3Di Waterbeheer consists of improved and fast information for more effective decisions. The i’s stand for integral and interactive information for water management and 3D refers to three-dimensional visualisation of information. The goal of this project is to improve the information provision for water managers. Important elements are: detailed schematisations of the terrain, an intergraded model, interactive simulations, increase of the calculation capacity, information via the internet and 3D-visualisations of inundation and floods.
Expected results are the following: a 100 times faster and improved inundation model, an online framework for the decision making process and 3D-visualisations of inundation and floods. The improved information system has to contribute in a realistic determination of the origin and consequences of inundation and floods and has to provide more insight in effective and cost efficient solutions. In combination with improved visualisation (3D) this will be an important input for the cooperation between landowners, local authorities and water boards to solve water related issues.
