Lizard Central Platform in Two New G4AW Projects

The Netherlands Space Office (NSO) has approved six project for funding within the third call of the Geodata for Agriculture and Water (G4AW) Facility. Nelen & Schuurman is part of the consortium in two of the winning project. In both project the Lizard platform will play a central role in connecting remote sensing data, geodata, and field data to farmers. Lizard is used to collect, combine and integrate data and convert data products to new useful information that is made accessible via sms and apps. Furthermore, Nelen & Schuurmans will have the technical lead and will coordinate the information chain from data to end user and is responsible for storage, decision support, and service distribution. With the two new projects the Lizard platform provides information to farmers in six projects in four different countries in the region.

Cambodia, Angkor Salad

The project delivers services that help at least 100,000 vegetable farmers in Cambodia to increase their production, income and food security. Whilst reducing water usage, usage of fertilizers and pesticides. The service has 5 components:

  • Irrigation advice

  • Fertilizer advice

  • Crop Planning advice

  • Market Information

  • Khmer Good Agricultural Practice Compliance

Indonesia, SpiceUp

The project delivers services that help 100,000 pepper farmers to increase their production, income and food security. Whilst reducing water usage, usage of fertilizers and pesticides. The service provides information on the topics:

  • Drought/Irrigation

  • Fertilizer usage

  • Best Agricultural Practices

  • Sustainable Tracing System
